POWERSTATION EQUIPMENT TO SOUTHERN SPAIN
During the year 2003 the RIEDL-Group performed the transportation of a 2-block power station from Germany to San Roque/Algeciras in Southern Spain.
The first shipment consisted of two Condenser modules with accessories and was shipped from Indonesia. These modules had to be shipped in horizontal position due to ist extreme hights and had to be turned width to hight by means of four automobile cranes prior to delivery under overhead crane at site. The second and third shipment came from Bremen and included each 2 steam turbines weighing approx. 200 to, 2 gas turbines weighing 305 to, 2 HE-turbines weighing 58 to, 2 generators weighing 371 to and 2 transformers weighing 260 to.
From alongside H/L ship these heavy lifts where trucked to a prepared intermediate storage area with specialised hydraulic platform trailers and later, after preparation at site, under overhead crane within the buildings. Due to the extreme hight and the weights the delivery of the components to site over public road system was extremely difficult, but was performed in time and without damages. The transformers had to be skidded off trailers onto foundation, also under responsibility and arrangement of the RIEDL-Group.
The entire project was controlled by Rolf Riedl GmbH, who had to also arrange more than 200 legal loads and ODC shipments from various locations in Germany to San Roque.
