HEAVY WEIGHT TRANSPORT SYSTEMS

spacer At the 59th IAA for Commercial Vehicles held in Hanover from 12th to 19th September 2002, SCHEUERLE shows new and further developments and set up the next standard level for heavy weight transport sytems.

Following the world novelty of the hydraulic disc brake for 19,5 inch wheels at the IAA 2000 Scheuerle is presenting a further world innovation at the IAA 2002:

Hydraulic Disc Brake for 17,5 inch wheels and tires on pendulum axles

The chief benefits of disc brakes include enhanced braking action, favourable fading behaviour, high thermal loading capacity, improved braking action when hot, high thermal shock resistance of the brake disc, low thermal strain on the tyre base and a distinct reduction in squealing and rattling. Compared with pneumatic brakes, the brake power is available to be applied more quickly with hydraulic disc brakes. This is particularly true when driving long combinations comprising numerous axle lines.

Another advantage is that maintenance costs for disc brakes are much lower. Compared with drum brakes, changing the brake pads on brake discs is virtually child`s play, saving as much as 10 hours per axle line. No special tools are required any longer for changing the brake pads. The simple design leads to lower failure rates when replacing the brake pads. The ABS sensors are easily accessible from the outside and can also be removed and replaced with ease. Scheuerle will travel to this year`s IAA with three exhibits, namely platform trailers of the INTER COMBI, FLAT COMBI, and EURO COMBI series.

The 17,5 inch disc brake is already certified by TÜV Rheinland, RDW Amsterdam and different european tires manufacturers.
